The Challenge
Nexus Capital had grown fast, and their transaction platform — cobbled together from third-party services and early-stage compromises — was cracking under the load. Response times had ballooned past 8 seconds and incident rates were climbing.
Our Approach
We spent the first two weeks mapping every transaction flow before touching code, then moved to an event-driven architecture with explicit transaction boundaries and a PostgreSQL schema redesigned from first principles. We ran old and new systems in parallel for three weeks with automated consistency checks on every transaction.
The Solution
The new platform launched in 14 weeks with zero downtime. Response times dropped from 8.2 seconds to under 1 second, and the architecture now handles 10x the previous peak load — giving Nexus the headroom for their Series B targets.
